Hotels in Deadwood, SD
Historic Main Street rooms, casino resorts, and the best place to sleep after a Black Hills day.
Updated: September 21, 2026 | Prices from $95/night
Deadwood is a small town with two very different hotel experiences. Main Street is the right call for an evening of walking, history, and bars. The resorts outside the core offer more room, easier parking, and better family facilities.
Our quick picks
Historic Bullock Hotel for Main Street and atmosphere. The Lodge at Deadwood for families. Deadwood Gulch when price and a quieter setting matter more than a short walk to the casinos.

You need a pool, more parking, larger rooms, or an easier family afternoon. The Lodge is the clearest example; the trade-off is a drive or shuttle into the historic district.
Questions people ask before booking
Are Deadwood hotels kid-friendly?
Some are. The Lodge has the strongest family setup because of its indoor waterpark. Main Street is more about casinos and history, so it works better for older children who enjoy walking and museums.
Is there a shuttle?
The trolley and hotel shuttles can make an out-of-town property workable, but schedules and fares change. Ask the front desk about the last return trip before planning a late night.
Plan the northern Hills around your room
Pair a Deadwood stay with Spearfish Canyon (or compare Spearfish hotels if you want a cheaper bed off I-90), the Deadwood visitor guide, or our Sturgis Rally hotel guide. In winter, Deadwood is the main base for skiing Terry Peak, 8 miles away, and the town lights its Christmas tree at Outlaw Square on December 4 (see our Black Hills Christmas events guide). Book well ahead for August and event weekends.
